Bob worked with my parents,John and Gerry Howe at the Mercury/News. Both looked up to him as a great writer,reporter,human,and family man. My condolences to his family ...he will be remembered and missed.

We first met Bob and Ellie on Christmas Day, 1972. They walked into the first geodesic dome home I had ever built. Bob asked, "Would you mind if I brought my Banjo over to see what it sounds like in a dome?" A couple years later we were building the Ligon Family a dome home. I've built hundreds of domes since, but have never met anyone as kind and generous as Bob and Ellie. My thoughts are with Ellie, Leslie, Paul and the rest of the family.
