Alfred "Gummy" Barrows

I don't think there are enough superlatives to accurately describe the immense legacy that my Uncle Gummy has left behind. Nor are there enough words to tell you what an impact that this wonderful man had upon my life.

To know Gummy was to love him, it is that simple. He always had a smile on his face and a song in his heart and after you met him you had a friend for life. He was devoted to his wife Nancy and his girls and adored his grandchildren.

I was lucky enough to know this gentle kind man and have him in my life for almost 50 years and I consider myself blessed because of it. He was a surrogate Grandfather to my children, a friend to my husband, and a brother to me. And our loss is most...

You all are in our thoughts and prayers. I have a vivid picture of Gummy playing his harmonica while Mom played her accordian and guitars mixed in. He lived life to its fullest and he is at peace now.
