Robert J. Lo Furno

I first meet Mr. Lo Furno in October of 1976. I was a freshman at O'Hara and dating his son Wooby (Rob). I am thrilled to say that almost 40 years have passed and I lovingly call him my Father(in-Law). You gave me a wonderful husband and family. You will be greatly missed! Mr. LoFurno was my math teacher at Haverford Junior High School when I was in 8th grade. I did well in his class - he made me want to learn. The mark of a truly good educator is when former students remember still to this day the greatness of educators that helped shaped their lives in some way. I remember him fondly as "my" teacher. RIP.

I remember Bob as my first real department head at Haverford High in 1971, who succeeded Nick Sacchetti who passed away that year. Bob was a no non-sense teacher who expected his students to perform at their best. He was also a good father who was proud of his 2 son's accomplishments. He talked about Rob who went to China months before the Olympics to prepare food services for the Olympians. He spoke of Michael who set up exhibits at the Phila. Flower Show.
