Not sure what to say?

To the Lokting family, belated condolences on the passing of Bob. My dad, Ed Johnson, who died July 2022, was a fraternity brother of Bob's and knew both Bob and Ilse in college and for many years afterwards. My dad always spoke so highly of Bob (and Ilse as well) and considered Bob one of his closest friends, though I know it had been some time since they were in touch. I now have some wonderful pictures of Bob and Ilse that my dad took at their wedding and I would be happy to scan them...

It was a long time ago that I was introduced to the Lokting Family through your grandmother Friedl. As some of you will recall, she was like a surrogate grandmother to me through our work together at the Oregon Symphony and the Performing Arts Center. Through her I met Bob, Ilse and you five offspring (and perhaps a tiny grandchild or two). Bob became my State Farm agent, and later John. I think of you all, and probably to a great degree because of the man Bob was, as the American family...

Bob Lokting introduced me to the State Farm Agency family. Thus began a half century friendship with one of kindest people I’ve ever known.
Bob was a person who blanketed kindness to everyone he encountered, never spoke a ill word about anyone. He was especially loving to his wife, Ilse, and their five children, all of whom I came to know and respect.
Bob taught me not only how to manage my career as an agent but also how to navigate many of the challenging issues that confront us...

My father, Dan Harrington, was one of the State Farm agents managed by Bob for many years. My dad often said that "Bob Lokting was the best boss he ever could have hoped for". My dad passed in April 2016, and my mother, Anne Marie, still living, would like to pass along her condolences to the Lokting family. She said the Loktings were the most welcoming, kind and helpful couple to my dad and to her at the start of his State Farm career and for all the years after. On behalf of my parents and...

Grandpa's positive outlook, kindness, and humor are an inspiration. I will always miss him, but feel very fortunate to have had him in my life for so long. Love to you and Grandma always!

Condolences to the family of a man with a remarkable life and career. We live across the street, but moving in less than three years ago, we never had a chance to meet Robert due to his confinement. I was surprised to know that we share a career with State Farm. I retired in 2002 after 48 years in various capacities with the company.

A wonderful man, always cheerful and optimistic despite hardships life threw his way, including his beloved wife's Parkinson's disease. He was a role model to all of us in the family, and surely to others beyond the family. He had a fun sense of humor and loved telling stories. He and my husband, Pete, shared many a fishing tale during our visits. I will miss you, dear Uncle Bob, but I know you are with the love of your life, Aunt Ilse, now. Love to all my cousins

Bob was my family’s agent for many years and sold me my very first independent car insurance policy. He was very kind and trusted by all of us. My condolences.

What a wonderful tribute to what sounds like a “real good guy”! I only know his daughter Carol, but that’s enough to know he raised his children to be kind and caring people. Nice to know he is reunited with the love of his life.
