Bob was a true and loving friend; the best there is. Bob's enthusiasm for railroading was infectious; his stories of photographing trains, especially during the steam era, were entertaining and educational. Bob's creative mind produced some of the most colorful paint schemes for real trains like the Preamble Express and Chessie Steam Special. I have fond memories of my family's time in Fremont visiting Dad's favorite cousin Uncle Bob. He was wonderful to be around and Dad especially would look forward to our visits. At least one of Bob's beautiful train illustrations was always on display at home.
