It's been almost 20 years since I was flown to WHC and Dr. Lowery performed an emergency operation replacing my arota saving my life. I remember how calming and comforting he was thru all of it. In addition to being an incredible surgeon he was such a wonderful man. I thank God everyday for him!

I worked with Dr. Lowery when he was Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery from 2003 to 2007 at Downstate. My position as the Department of Surgery´s Performance Improvement manager entailed close clinical review and interactions with the surgeons. I always looked forward to the challenges of finalizing his reports. I remember him as soft spoken and always a gentleman. My condolences to the family

I have vivid memories of my time working with Dr. Lowery at Howard University Hospital during my residency. Dr. Lowery was always very energetic and knowledgeable while encouraging us to be the best surgeons possible. His passion for surgery was infectious and he was inspiring. I am sending my condolences to his family.
