Lux, Robert was born on October 24, 1925 in Long Prairie to Everett & Adeline (Johnson) Lux. He served his country in the US Air Force during WW 11. He returned to Minnesota after being honorably discharged in 1946, where he continued his education at St. Thomas. In 1948, Robert returned to Long Prairie to purchase Lux Hardware. On August 4, 1949, Robert married Carol Wulling in Clara City. Carol died on March 6, 1979. Robert married Barbara Marlene Fox on July 29, 1988, in Eden Prairie. He was a longtime resident of Long Prairie where he owned and operated Lux Hardware and Furniture for four decades. He then lived in Sun City at Rancho Vistoso, Arizona for fourteen years, and then in Lincoln, California. Robert was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Long Prairie, Long Prairie VFW Post #1140, Long Prairie Chamber of Commerce, Long Prairie Country Club and was on the Board of Directors of the American Hardware Insurance Company from 1979-1993. Robert knew how to give love unconditionally, and he knew how to accept love. His optimism, but also his innate understanding of human nature helped him in good and difficult times. He always looked for the best in others. He was never petty, even in situations that weren't good. He believed in the power of a positive attitude-if you are positive you can influence a situation (be they good or bad) to make them better. Robert loved Arizona and his life with Barbara. With great joy he expanded his circle of family to include Peter and Dan and their families. Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Chanhassen; daughters and son Nancy C. Werner (Jeff) of Rio Verde, AZ, Jean Lux (Michael Ryan) of Colorado Springs, CO, Robert C. Lux of Wayzata; step-sons, Peter Crone (Laura) Eldorado Hills, CA, Dan Crone (Nicole) San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Aidan Ryan, Jessa Lux, Tyler Lux, McKinsey Lux, Ashley Katherine Crone, Natalie Fox Crone, Charles Richard Crone, Katie Alice Crone; sister, Rosemary James of Edina; and cousin, James (Mary Ann) Johnson of Shoreview. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Carol and brother Bill. Memorials are preferred to the Ridgeview Foundation care of Hospice Memorial Giving at 125 Main Street Waconia, MN 55387. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Tuesday January 3, 2006 at St George Catholic Church in Long Lake. Rev. Ralph Huar will officiate and burial will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at St Mary's Cemetery in Long Prairie. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church in Long Lake.
