I served on the Yorba Linda Planning Commission with Bob for a few years. He was always a great pleasure to work with. I enjoyed chatting with Bob and hearing his stories from the Nixon Library. Bob took a few of my teacher friends on a special tour of the Library one afternoon. Those teachers spoke highly of Bob for many years and appreciated his kindness and professionalism.

When I was a docent at the Nixon library, I loved listening to the stories he shared. He was a treasure.

I knew Bob on the YL Planning Commission. I was new to the Commission 5 years ago, and Bob reached out immediately and invited me to lunch to welcome me and explain "the ropes". Bob was kind, funny, smart, a realist and had an eye for making things work. Grateful to know him, grateful for his mentorship, grateful for his services to the community in so many ways. I served with Bob on the Yorba Linda Planning Commission. Although over 40 years separated us in age, we probably saw eye to eye on issues and voted the same almost all the time. I was the youngest member, he was the oldest, I was also the only woman. He always treated me as his peer and friend. I hope his family knows how much his community appreciated him.

Mr. Lyons, you were the most interesting man in the world. I'm sure you are in a pub somewhere telling all your tales. Half the angels are eagerly listening while the other half are fighting for the exits. The next time l see you, l will dig a hole wherever you tell me to. Big Irish hugs, Patsweeney
