Dr. Robert A. MacDonald

I am sad to learn of the death of Dr.MacDonald. He was a great influence on my life. He influenced my decision to go to the University of Richmond, to major in Spanish, and to pursue a career in teaching.

One of my most vivid and poignant memories was his unexpected and extemporaneous reading of his thesis on Alfonso el Sabio to our class. We the students were spellbound. He was a true scholar and gentleman and I am grateful and privileged to have known him.
