Not sure what to say?

Oh, dearest Shivaun, thank you so much for sharing that letter with all of us. As for your Dad's list of favorites . . . I am with him on every one! Especially Gone with the Wind, Jonathan Winters, Bogart, Fawlty Towers and Heath bars!
Much love,
Jane

Dad wrote:

"...I was just a normal boy who grew up with wonderful parents on a turkey farm in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin. Our parents taught us kindness is really the most important thing in life. They also taught Frank and I the importance of working hard and having tight, honest relationships. We learned so many lessons, and more lessons! The Depression was the "school of hard knocks." I had not seen the photo gallery until today and what a stunning selection of photos. Certainly magical moments and a lovely celebration and journey through the extraordinary lives of two well-respected and greatly loved people. Thank you for sharing these memories! xxx

Shivaun, so sorry to hear of your dads passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Shivaun and family. I very much enjoyed the opportunity to know both your Mother and Father. Because I worked closely with your Father, I am able to say that he was an incredibly interesting man. He was very proud of his family and loved you dearly. I wish you well.

Oh, we must all vote to keep this online longer than next week! Thank you, darling Frank, for adding your memories. Do you suppose Brother Bob had any idea how many lives he affected and changed for the better? I'm guessing not, as he was the most unassuming of gentlemen.

So many memories, and all of them sweet.

Much love again,

Jane Kendall

In memory of my brother Robert Russell Manley Jr.

Bob has been characterized by many as a “sweet” and “gentle” person. While I would wholeheartedly agree with that description of him, I would like to add some depth to that description from a brotherly point of view. Bob had many foibles and idiosyncrasies, which I'm certain others will describe in detail.

Bob was invariably generous almost to a fault. Sometimes he had limited means but at Christmas time he would make certain...

Going to Bob and Seon's apartment in Greenwich was an adventure for the me at 20. Thousands of books and the best chili I had ever eaten was served. Seon could never verbalize her recipe which I have tried to reproduce without much success for over 30 years. Bob would proudly show me how they had saved money by buying in bulk. Packed to the ceiling boxes of kleenex or toilet paper would be piled up in the closet insuring that there would be no room for anything else. There was no doubt that...
