Gayle Manning Alstrom

Dr. Manning was a cousin (somewhat removed) of mine, and am sorry to hear about his passing.

Dr. Manning was the best doctor that I worked with at KUMC-W, ACP conferences in Kansas City & Wichita.

I took care of his mail and home while he & Jane were in Steamboat Springs, CO enjoying their condo, fishing & the area surroundings. Both He and Jane were wonderful people.

Bob was a true visionary in the education of physicians. His unorthodox, nontraditional methods are now the norm. His legacy - the collegial, caring ambience at EVMS - exists to this day, 40 years later.
Rest in peace, Bob.
Pat Williams, Prof., EVMS

Dr. Manning helped me learn that compassion and respect for patients, colleagues, medical students and, yes, everyone are part of being a true physician.

Bob was a good friend to me at KUMC and Eastern Virginia Med School where I had the good fortune to work for him when he was Dean there. I will miss you..God bless you Bob

I am grateful for the life of Dr. Manning. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

Few live as well as Bob. He was the best at everything, a great teacher, scholar, leader, physician, mentor, and friend. You capture his distinguished career in your obit. I miss him, but will never forget him.
