Bob and I were lifeguards at North Ave. Beach in 1955. We doubled going to the lifeguard dance that summer. Always a gentleman, and one of the best teachers I ever knew. I'll miss you, Bob. Godspeed!

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing, he has left an indelible mark on the lives of so many young people in the Chicago area. He was master story teller and always had a great aventure to tell about. I will miss those chance meetings somewhere in the neighborhood, however he is just entertaining a different crowd now!

I always enjoyed working with Bob at Oak St. Beach (lifeguarding), Racine Quarry (SCUBA diving), Eckhart Park (swim meets), and North Avenue Beach (Chicago Park District Lifeguard Instructors Institute) where his classes in knot tieing were unmatched.
