Not sure what to say?

I was a mathematics teacher at Sam Houston High School when Bobby Marks was football coach there. He was a wonderful coach and everyone, both faculty and students, were disappointed when he left to further his career. As a teacher I really appreciated his efforts to make sure his athletes performed well in class. He stopped by my classroom often to check up on them. One thing I remember about him was that he required them to wear a white shirt and necktie on game day.

Deepest sympathy for your loss. Coach Marks was a varsity coach my sophomore year at Houston´s Jesse H. Jones and also my Driver´s Ed. Instructor. He let us drive to the site where the Astrodome was being erected one day. He was a good coach and I wished that he could´ve remained at Jones throughout my years there. I saw him a few years later and was honored that he remembered me.

So sorry for your loss. Our son graduated from ACCS 2000. We have been supporting the school since it opened. Loved Coach Marks.

I just learned of Coach Marks' passing last night. What a true gentleman. My twin sister & I knew Coach Marks at Sam Houston High here in Houston and saw him later at A&M. He never changed: always gracious and a blessing to know. I regret never telling him that in later years. I hope he knows what a difference he made in the lives he touched. We will never forget him.

A summary of action in the Alabama Legislature on Tuesday, the first day of the regular session:

HOUSE,

—Passed a resolution mourning the death of former University of Alabama assistant football coach Bobby Marks.

Hey Ann,

I know that you are still grieving and still burdened with lots of things to take care of. But I wanted to say I love you, my friend, and that I continue to pray for you and your family. I will call you soon and come up to get my stuff at your house. We can go to lunch or I can bring some to your house, whatever would make you most comfortable.

At Bobby's funeral I told you the story about Roma and you asked me to send it too you. So I am including it...

Soul Patrol!..Thank goodness for American Idol and Taylor Hicks! When a friend brags on her brother-in-law, you know "He is someone SPECIAL," Someone you really want to meet! We were excited about seeing LIMBO (Little Memphis Blues Orchestra formerly the Taylor Hicks band) at Workplay in Birmingham, and maybe meeting THE MAN, Taylor Hicks! He did drop by and sing a few songs with Bucky Covington, Ace Young, and Elliott Yamin...EXCITMENT went through the roof! The hype was compairable to the...

Bobby, Keith, & Jared,
Sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. God bless you and your families at this time of sorrow.

Ann, I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to speak with Coach at the '73 reunion this past year. I was a freshman athletic hostess in '71 and Coach Bobby was one of the nicest people I ever knew. I would have been at the funeral had I known of his passing. I know that he will be greatly missed -- but so many wonderful memories. God bless you and your family.
