Dear June,I was so sorry to read of Bob's death. I always enjoyed his enthusiastic response to the Celebration Cinema opera's when we met during intermission. Who could forget our OLLIE class trial and the parts you two played. I admire you for the great support your gave Bob that enabled him to enjoy things like those despite his physical limitations. I'll miss him too and send my sympathy to you.

Dear Marshall family: I met Bob when he was a resident at Butterworth and my father was the CEO in 1955. We became friends years later when I was in college and I made numerous trips to Pandora, OH, to pick up his father to come to Grand Rapids for visits. His knowledge and love of music helped shape my taste for the classics, jazz, and opera. He had a great sense of humor and love of family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I am so saddened to read of Bob's death in the Grand Rapids Press (on line). I liked him very much from the few visits I had with him and I wish I could be there to lend some small support. You certainly were a blessing to him. I will be thinking of you at the time of the memorial.
