Not sure what to say?

good memories and deep regrets that I didn't join him on one of his adventures in France Love Lany Rubin

In loving memory Lanny Rubin

I knew Robert and his spouse Rosa. Him and I spent a good time in Orange France tasting the wines of Chatenau-du-Pape. He will always be remembered as someone who knew all the rules for a faculty´ meeting. He will always be remembered as a hearty and generous man who made many music requests on Blue Lake radio. That is why we treasure his smile and happy demeanor. Lynn Mapes his colleague at GVSU.

Dear Ros ,Robert was a very interesting person to say the least. He will surely be missed.Blue Lake radio will never sound the same .Prayers Cara McGruder

I miss my more or less semiannual phone conversations with Bob. As I said before, in the world of fantasy, I would have loved to adventure with Bob and have him adventure with me in the Southwest. It was a side of Bob
that I really never thought existed at Swarthmore. Sometimes live seems unbelievably marvelous and at other
times too cruel for words. I do so wish I would have had some time with Bob and Roz.

I hadn't realized that Bob was such an adventurer in his search of "wine truths". I am sorry we never had a chance to adventure together as I also love exploring. It would have been fun. I think I will always see Bob at Swarthmore meticulously cleaning his records with a special cloth. He was a perfectionist. My love to Roz.

What a sweet man he was, the world is a lesser place without him.

I knew him in the late 70's as he was a prof. at William James. Though I was a student at Thomas Jefferson, we had a few independent study classes.

He was a marvelous teacher, and very knowledgable about many things besides philosophy and literature.

He always knew how to listen, a sometimes lost art for teachers and professors...

Rest in peace, dear Robert. Sincere condolences to his much loved...

I am stunned by this news. Robert Mayberry always impressed me by his energy, his tenacity, his courage and his thoughtfulness. I feel his absence like a spiritual hole, so much less is the world without him in it.

When I came to Grand Valley I too had just been diagnosed with MS and I immediately looked to learn from him how to go on with this mysterious disease. He showed me the meaning of going on and then some. A more friendly, knowledgeable and dignified person I could not...

Robert was one of my first, and always one of my favorite, WJC profs. I took a philosophy class from him my first semester at Grand Valley and was so impressed I can still remember the philosophers we studied. My roommate and I also named our kitten after him, and Mayberry the cat stayed in my life for 18 years. A fine human being!
