Robert Franklin Maynor, 90, of Sarepta, LA passed away at his home on Thursday, March 6, 2014. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9th from 5-8PM at Lewis Funeral Home in Springhill, LA. Graveside services will be Monday, March 10th at the Old Sarepta Cemetery at 11:00 AM. The service will be officiated by Bro. Todd Pickard of Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church. Robert was born on February 2, 1924 in Sarepta, LA to the late William and Carrie Maynor, who predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his son Richard W. Maynor; his three brothers, Melvin, Adolph and Dalton Maynor; and his beloved sister, Elizabeth Bates. Surviving Robert is his wife of 67 years, Jimmie Browning Maynor; his sons Bob and wife Sharon of Mansfield, LA, Gary and wife Patty of Forney, TX and Randy and wife Elise of Georgetown, TX; one granddaughter Teresa Maynor of Shreveport, LA; five grandsons Scott Maynor and wife Kristi of Frisco, TX, Chris Maynor of Forney, TX, Steven Maynor of Garland, TX, Kyle Maynor of Colorado Springs, CO, and Karey Maynor of College Station, TX will cherish all their special memories of their much loved Granddaddy; five great grandchildren, who were so fortunate to know and spend time with their great Granddaddy are; Robert Grant Maynor of Shreveport, LA, Owen and Eli Maynor of Frisco, TX and twins Reagan and Riley Maynor of Forney, TX. Shortly after his graduation from Sarepta High School in 1942, Robert went into the Army Air Corps. He proudly served his country in India and Burma during World War II. Robert began his career in construction in 1946 with Austin Bridge Company of Dallas, TX. After a time, he transferred to Austin Building Company and built many power plants and various other facilities in Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, and Nebraska over his 38 year career. He retired in 1984 as Vice President of Operations with Austin Power. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and a great grandson and close friends, Tommy Boswell and Tom Bush.
