Robert Edward McDonald

It was the spring of 1981 at Farmingville Elementary. I was being heavily bullied at the time by what felt like most of the 6th grade boys and even some girls. I remember the day well when Bob called in the boys from the entire 6th grade class and we all crammed into his office. He gave us a good solid firm talking to about bullying, its effects, its cruelty and how as principal he would not tolerate it or let it stand. I had never seen him so angry and everyone felt it and knew he meant...

Both our children went to Farmingville Elementary School. Bob was an astute observer of children, and he always seemed to know exactly what to say to them, whether it was a compliment or a question about behavior. My husband and I greatly admired him. He was an exemplary principal.

Bob McDonald was a truly wonderful and special man. We knew him as Principal of Farmingville Elementary School where he was an incredible advocate for all the kids, and an especially good, kind, caring person to ours. We were very blessed to have him in our lives. And happy that he got to live such a long and full life. Our sympathies to his family.

Your dear Father was my first principal at Farmingville Elementary in 1969 and I babysat for the oldest Mc Donald children. I'll always have fond memories of BOTH of your Parents.
