DOHERTY FUNERAL SERVICE Obituary

Mr. Robert A. McInnis--90, A resident of Somerville and the beloved husband for 68 years to the late Ruth (Moroney) McInnis, passed away at the home he was born in surrounded by his family on Friday, October 30, 2015.



Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Julia M. (Lewis) and Allan D. McInnis. A member of the Greatest Generation, he was a proud Marine Corp Veteran serving during WWII. Robert was also a proud member of Teamster's Local 25 and for many years worked as a driver. He was well respected in his industry and was a trusted driver for many celebrities while filming on location in the Boston area, including Cher and Johnny Depp. He was the personal driver for Robert Urich while the series, Spencer for Hire, was being produced. The two became quite close over the years. He was also an active member of the former James A. Logan Post and the Woburn Irish American Club.



Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth in December of last year. He is survived by his children: Robert A., Jr. of Amesbury, Kevin J. and his wife Joanne of Somerville, Joseph M. of Jupiter, Florida, Richard J. and his wife Debra of Boynton Beach, Florida, Daniel A. of Miami, Kathleen M. of Somerville and Karen A. Brisbois and her husband Chris of Boca Raton, Florida. He was the cherished grandfather of several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert was also a dear brother of Rosalie Greene, Mildred Robertson and her husband George and Earlene McInnis all of Stuart, Florida and the late Francis, Donald, Mary McGillvray, Allan, William, Theresa Siragusa and Marion McInnis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.



The funeral procession will be held from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq) in Somerville on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 3, from 4-8 p.m. Interment with Marine Corps honors at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
