There are not many childhood memories of mine that did not have Mr.McLaughlin present. Sunday night visits to Edward's, for root beer and onion rings, talking to him through the screen door while recovering from chicken pox, him giving me a beautiful silver jewelry box when I turned sixteen, and him choking back tears when my dad played butterfly kisses on my eighteenth birthday.
