Not sure what to say?

Bob would help anyone who needed it , No matter the Circumstances. A true " Heart of Gold " sorta Guy. Very much missed. I think - Gone too soon.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for all in LtCol McLean´s family. I was saddened to read about his passing in the Newsletter for retired Marines, "SEMPER FIDELIS". I first met, then Captain McLean, while I was a student at Broome Community College in 1977. It was easy to see why the Marine Corps chose him to be a recruiter. He was physically fit, had a gregarious personality, was sharp minded and a straight shooter, and always looked immaculate in uniform. In short, he portrayed every...

I had the great pleasure of serving with Colonel McLean, when he was a Captain and I was a Lieutenant in Syracuse, New York. He was may senior as we were Marine Corps Officer Selection Officers with responsibility for recruiting the best men and women from the 30 colleges and universities in Central New York State. Despite the fact that he came from the USMC air wing, and I came from the infantry, Robert welcomed me with open arms from the day I reported for duty. He was a dedicated...

I met Bob in 2000, the first year of the Syracuse Nationals car show where he was public relations director and I was the PA announcer. We became good friends, visiting each other´s homes on many occasions. He was a great guy, a proud Marine, and he will be missed. I only learned of his passing well after the fact, and am grateful for this opportunity to remember him here. RIP Colonel, Semper Fi!

Hi family! My name is Tom Marriott. I just learned of Bob death. I have known Bob since I was a young boy. He was just an outstanding man. I wrestled in high school and college.. Bob followed my career in college. He came and saw me at East Carolina University, when he was stationed at Camp Lejeune. I cared for Bobby very much. Bob was top self a great person . Thank you :)

I only learned of Bob´s passing a couple days ago. Bob and I became good friends during our time with the Syracuse Nationals, and to say I was shocked at this news would be an understatement. RIP Colonel. You will be missed.

Sending my heartfelt condolences and prayers to Bob´s family! Bob led a life well lived and has left a powerful legacy. Florence Bonfardeci Sadler Herkimer Class of `68
