Middletown, RI - Robert Charles "Ottis" McLeish, 44, of 30 High Street, Middletown, RI, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Newport on September 29, 1967, he was the son of the late James C. and Dorothy (Scott) McLeish. Ottis was a 1987 graduate of Middletown High School. He worked as a supervisor for the Town of Middletown in its Parks and Recreation Department for 23 years. He was a member of the North End Club and the Newport Lodge of Elks. Bob loved nothing more than spending time with his children, family and friends. He had a great love for animals and had many through the years. He leaves his beloved children Maia and Christian along with his cherished Jen Christy. Bob also leaves his sisters and brothers Sandra "Sam" Silvia, Janet Perry, Scott McLeish and his wife Cathy and James McLeish and his wife Sherri. He was the uncle of Stacey O'Hanley and her husband Sean, John Jemo, Kimberly Perry, Tracy Perry, Scott McLeish Jr., Brynn McLeish and Cameron McLeish all of Middletown. Bob leaves his best friend Dan Ashworth as well as his German Shepherds Trouble, Sampson and his cat Felix. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00pm – 8:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home. His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 11:00am in Emmanuel Church, 40 Dearborn Street, Newport, RI Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
