Sarge was my Great Uncle and a few years ago I had the opportunity to spend three days with him and record six hours of tape. He told me of his WWII experiences from fighting Rommel in North Africa to DDay and Omaha Beach. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and went on to liberate a concentration camp. He was a true patriot and served his country well. He said he told himself that if he made it the through the winter of the Battle of the Bulge he would live out his life somewhere...
