Robert J. McNerney (Mac) age 88 of Winter Park, Fl., passed away April 1, 2014. Mac was born February 26, 1926 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of the late Justin & Jeannette (Baylies) McNerney. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1944 to serve in WWII. After 32 honorable years, he retired in 1976. He continued his professional career in financial services, retiring for a second time in 1996.
Mac is survived by the love of his life Maria Ph. McNerney from Germany, his children Colleen (Jason) Buchanan, Jeannette (Jerry) Wert, Kevin (Mary) McNerney, Patrick (Victoria Edgar) McNerney, and his sister Jane Staly.
He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Tim Wert, Garrett McNerney, Justin Edgar-McNerney, Katherine McNerney, Thomas Edgar-McNerney, Xavier Edgar-McNerney, Cameron Wert, Benjamin Edgar-McNerney, Mary Margaret McNerney, and Joleen Grace Buchanan.
The family will be receiving friends Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 PM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in the Chapel. A Mass of Catholic burial will be celebrated Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 526 N. Park Ave Winter Park, Fl., 32789. Interment will follow at Palm Cemetery, Winter Park, Florida.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations in his name to the Haiti Ministry of St. Margaret Mary, or to the Gardens at Depugh Nursing Center.

My deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to to the McNerney family for the loss of Mac. I just learned of his loss and I want to convey how much he mean to me as a young teenager growing up with Kevin. Mac was a loving father and a generous and caring man. I looked up to him and appreciated his quick wit and sense of humor.
