We knew the Mervenne family from Merv's Bar at Madison square from the 1960's. My parents worked for Len and Lucy there and then at the Pump House Bar in Kentwood. I also worked for Tom and Bob at the Pump House in the late 1970's. Tom had the personality plus for a bartender and a boss. Bob too was a great boss but as a waitress there, it was hard to get Bob to put the newspaper down long enough to make the drinks, he had to read the sports section! Bob was a friend for 60 years. I enjoyed his humor and insight. In a group, he often would sit back and listen and then come out with a well thought out and intelligent "zinger" that was perfect and set everyone back in their seats! RIP Bob
