Not sure what to say?

It's been seven months since Bob made his es-cape to the Great Beyond. God I miss him!!

I knew Bob as a fellow member of the UVA band and as a hallmate in the New Dorms. We also made a few road trips together to girls schools (in his 1950-ish Ford) while students at UVA. Bob was a tuba player in the All State Band and I was a flute/piccolo player in the same band when we were both seniors in high school. I just picked him out of a picture that Frank "Woody" Fitzgerald sent me of the UVA band from the yearbook of 1961 and Googled his name to find him and say hello. I guess...

Glen and Family,
I was very saddened to learn of Bobby's passing. We were at our reunion committee meeting when we heard the news.
I am sure he was planning on being well and seeing us at the reunion. I had recieved an email from him eariler and he was looking forward to it.
As you must know the man upstairs has bigger plans and we must go when he calls.
We will remember him as a very unique individual.
Call if we can do anything or drop by to visit [2 blocks away]

To Ronald, David and Glen,

My prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. Bob was like a father to me and I loved him very much. I will always cherish the time that we spent together. May God bless your family.

His friend,

Bob(Mr.X) will be missed by many. He was a great guy and a real character. I have so many fond memories of Bob who was a constant companion thru the 80's with my husband Bert and I and Bert's roadracing career he was always there to help anywhere anytime. God speed Bob ride on.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.

As a ACHS classmate, I can remember Bobby with a happy face. He was an inspiration to many who wanted to be involved with science and math. He was and will always be an inspiring person.
May he find peace and rest surely in Heaven. God please bless Bobby's family & friends.

As you grieve know that we are remembering you and honoring the memory of Bobby. We will never forget him.
With Heartfelt Sympathy.

I was a high school classmate of
Bobby: my sympathy to the entire
Metzl family. May you find strengh
during this sad time,
Richard Campbell
