Not sure what to say?

In the very early days of racing I, in my yellow Triumph TR3 raced Bobby Mitchell in his red Triumph TR3. In gymkhanas on parking lots and at the SCCA race track on the WW II training airfield in Courtland, Alabama. Bobby always won. I never beat him. He was always just a little bit faster. He towed his car on a beautiful trailer he engineered and built himself. Bobby was always a gentleman. Softspoken and a gentleman. I liked him very much.

It has been nearly 2 yrs since Bob has died. He is truly missed by me and others who admired, as well as, respected this good man. I know Karen misses him dearly. He is not forgotten and I often think of him as I enjoy a sunset and realize he can no longer see the sun - wish him eternal happiness. Jim English

Bob Mitchell was good man and worked with him a little. Bright, listened well, ego under control, willing to help, capable, and good interpersonal skills. I knew I could depend on him to give me honest assessment/answer which is gold. He now knows all the secrets of the Universe. The world needs more like him. Jim English

Karen,
I’ve been thinking of Bob often since I got the news. Perhaps you know how important he was to me. It was from him that I learned much about what a scientist/engineer should be. But I know you won’t be surprised to hear that it’s his kindness that I think of when I recall the years that we worked together. And that’s what I’ll be remembering tomorrow too, when I think of him again as I’m working on my Old ‘66 Mustang that he helped me with so often. And I’ll be grateful for his...

My condolences to Karen and the family of Bob Mitchell; myself and all of his friends were also extremely saddened to hear of his passing. Bob was an outstanding enginer and gentleman! He left a lasting mark in this life.
I will remember working with Bob in Advanced Sensors at MICOM, and also working with him and talking racing and racecars. All who knew him will miss him.

Bob and I worked together for many years at Redstone Arsenal. I really admired and respected Bob. My sympathy is with his family and many other friends.

Bob was a terrific mentor to me back in his time with the Army RDEC and also a good friend. He always had great car repair advice and was fun to work for and with. He taught me how to manage programs and so much about infrared systems and nerd stuff. Karen I know he will be missed and my family’s prayers are with you.
