Lake Cumberland Funeral Home - Somerset Obituary

Robert “Lindon” Molden, age 84 of Lexington, formerly of Somerset, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at St. Joseph Hospital East, Lexington, KY.  Lindon was born on July 8, 1939 at Cains Store, KY to Robert “Dewey” Molden and Rova Tarter Molden.  Lindon is remembered in the Somerset area as an owner of Molden Brothers Car Lot or S & H Auto Sales and his entire career was centered around car sales.  One of his hobbies was shopping for and collecting antiques.  Lindon was devoted to his parents and to his family.


Survivors include his wife, Donna Molden, three daughters, Tammy Pence (Gary) of Somerset,  Sheila Moore (Donnie) of Science Hill and Dee Emery of Lexington; son-in-law, Eddie Honan;  seven grandchildren, Josh Pence (Sara), Alex Pence, Casey Denney, Logan Denney (Lauryn), Shelby Honan, Ryan Honan and Whitney Rosenbaum; six great grandchildren, Brylee Pence, Lainey Pence, Jace Denney, Bryce Honan, Isabelle Rosenbaum and Harper Rosenbaum; and two sisters,  Donna Mae Hunley (Roy) of Somerset and Glenda C. Smith of Lexington.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Rova Molden;  one brother, Roy B. Molden; a brother-in-law, Quinton Smith; and daughter, Rhonda Honan.


Visitation for Lindon will be on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Hwy 80, Somerset, KY  42503.  His funeral service will follow at 4:30 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Danny Rowland         officiating.


Graveside Service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at May’s Lick Cemetery, May’s Lick, KY.

Donna this is Betty Sweeney who used to work with you at Rupp Arena. Tony told me your husband passed and I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. Even though I never met your husband I remember you always speaking of him as such a wonderful man. I will say a little prayer for you and your family in your time of grief.
