Not sure what to say?

I don't get to Michigan often...but when I got there this year I was told of Rob's passing...
Wow...the memories that flew thru my head!!! (none suitable for this forum) I don't think I've seen Rob since around 1960 or so... they tell me he'd changed somewhat...I don't believe it....we were both "long shots" to maken it this far, so I guess we beat the odds....
sure had some fun & exciting times together (as did our fathers, who were great buddies in the real old days)
...

Rob & I were good friends from Psi U days at the U of M. I last spoke to him on the phone on Masters Golf sunday which I knew he was sharing with Bob Spence. We had a great time laughing about old shared experiences. I knew his time was short but hoped I would be able to come visit him. Alas, it was not to be. I will miss his wit and humor and optimistic attitude toward life. Wally Knox

Hearing of Rob’s passing was an unpleasant surprise to us. Such news shakes the mind … and wonderful memories of Rob and friends starting falling like autumn leaves.
Our sympathy to all Rob’s family and friends.

I have known Rob most of my life as our fathers were great friends who were in the Yukon together in the 1930's. There are many great memories of Higgins Lake, high school, the U of M and, of course, a number of golf rounds complete with Rob's stories of times past.

I will miss him and wish him peace.

AHHS Reunions 1989 & 1999

A wise friend once told me, "I have hundreds of acquaintenances, but only five friends." Rob was one of my five. With Rob gone, life will not be the same. The fond memories, Rob's great sense of humor, and a warm, positive approach to life will never be forgotten. The two photographs were taken at high school reunions. The first in 1989 at a gathering prior to a more formal dinner. The second in 1999 when six of the eight original team members of the 5th grade City Champion "South B" that Rob...

It seems like only yesterday that I talked to Rob on the telephone after his final treatment at the University of Michigan hospital. A few friends were gathering in his apartment to watch the golf match (what else?). Bob Spence arrived while I was talking to Rob.
How I wish that I had been there. Rob, you will be missed, but never forgotten. Keep'em in the fairway, on the green, or in the cup.

Rob (REV) was a great friend since
childhood. Words can not express how much I will miss Rob and the many phone calls during PGA Golf Tournaments Thursday thru Sunday.
My sincere sympathy to Rob's family.

I have only meet Mr. Montague occassionally, but during those times he left a memorable impression on me. I truly will not forget him!

We will dearly miss Rob, but fortunately, many wonderful memories will stay with us, to keep us smiling to have known such a warm and generous spirit. We shared childhood adventures and adult experiences that will remain with us and keep us smiling, and sometimes laughing.
At our last high school reunion, Libby captured an image(see photo) of Rob with three of us who knew and loved Rob dearly, doing one of Rob's favorite things, playing golf. Now Rob gets a chance to play on a bigger and...
