Not sure what to say?

Death affects us all in different ways, it so hard to not feel the emptiness when thinking of Uncle Rob. But that sad feeling is soon subsided by a quiet chuckle or smile when those memories pass through my mind. Christmas was hard and there didn't seem to be as many laughs as usual not because of his death but his absence. I missed his Christmas present which were always good for more than a few laughs.
I'm certain that the feeling that something very important is missing will revisit...

For Christmas Eve this year (as usual), Celia and I will be going to the apartment on Seeley to spend it with Ree - Ree decided home is best - and she is absolutely right, though, without our Rob! I'd like to share the following with all those who loved Rob as we - for this is his Christmas this year (another version was read at Rob's funeral):

CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN

"Tis Christmas in Heaven
What a beautiful sight!
It's my very first one here;
Everything is...

Rob, your are the best. You always brightened a room. We are all better for your presence in our lives and will miss you so terribly.
Even though you are no longer with us, your spirit will always be here. We love you.

We'll miss Rob's call this Christmas wishing us all a happy holiday and (over the phone) saying,"you're looking good!"

My nephew Jack Moore, wrote and spoke these words at the closing of Rob's funeral mass. The words encompass what Rob was and meant to all and we would like to share them with everyone who knew Rob.

Eulogy
by Jack Moore
12/13/01
Good morning, for those of you who don't know me, or confuse me with my brothers, I'm Jacki-Pooh.

I believe that no-one here today felt "oligated" to come to this Mass of Reserection. I...

Rob Moore was my date to the Senior Prom and I think I was the luckiest girl there. What a guy! I will never forget it. He in his white dinner jacket and me ( a striking 5'11') in my Mother McAuley white gradution dress. We made some couple. Ree got Rob to go with me so I wouldn't miss the Prom. We laughed, we danced, we even went to the party afterwards.
It is a time I will never forget and I owe it all to my friend Ree and her wonderful brother. I am thankful that I had the chance...

Dear Robbie,

How many times did you make me and my sisters sing this song for you in 4 part harmony.

OK, one last time...

Go on out to the lobby,
Go on out to the lobby,
Go on out to the lobby,
And have a 7-UP!!!

May you and all our family's angels watch over us, guide us, and comfort us until we sing together again.

Love, Kit

I am a former dialysis patient and a successful kidney transplant recipient for 14 years now who was fortunate enough to benefit from Bob’s guidance, understanding and support. Bob played such an important role in my life and my brother’s life. Bob saw my brother and I through a total of 6 kidney transplants.

To Bob’s family and friends. Thank you so much for allowing me to benefit from his kindness. Today, thanks to Bob’s participation in my life, I am “living” all of my dreams....

Whatever gathering it was (and there were many)it was mandatory to make your way through the room, down or up the stairs, in or out the door, to plant yourself in the presence of Rob. Rob would hold court and have us in stitches! We will dearly miss our brilliantly talented cousin.
