He was born in Brunswick County on December 17th, 1928 to the late William Tyndall Moore and Nita May Atkinson Moore. Robert was a multi-talented man that retired from Godwin Oil Co. after 38 years, worked with his father at their pulp wood mill, once owned a shrimp boat, flew his own plane, traded and restored antique firearms, always had an antique car in his garage that he worked on restoring, and loved making homemade wine. He was known for his sense of humor, love of family and animals, and how he always helped his family, friends, and neighbors.

Not sure what to say?

Donna, condolences on the passing of your beautiful father. I was amazed by his talents, including wine making. He leaves an awesome legacy in you dear lady.

Our sincere condolences to your family for the loss of your sweet father Donna. Sorry we are not able to attend the memorial. Sending hugs and love from Canada, Cheryl and David

Mr. Moore, Donna's dad, would bring oil and help with our furnace when I was first married and living at 22 Port O Pines Trailer Park. He helped through some very cold winters. Donna's dad let her drive his big ole green truck, when her little orange VW bug was broken. He was a very kind man.

My grandfather was a great man, to say the absolute least. Never have I encountered someone who has touched so many lives for the better through acts of generosity and kindness. So many memories growing up at his house, working in the garden, playing with lizards, watching antique roadshow and this old house, having him help me make birdhouses, the list goes on and on and on. I remain so sad today not for him, as he is no longer hurting, but for my family and I as we miss him so much.

Donna,

Bill, Kaitlynne and myself send out heart felt condolences to you and your lovely family. Your father’s light shines in you; and brightly- for all your friends. Prayers to all.

My condolences for the loss of your Dad.He always had a smile on his face.He was blessed to have a loving family and lots of friends. He will be missed by many and his memory will last forever.Love and hugs to the family.

Donna, May the love of friends and family carry you and your family through your grief and allow you to cherish all your sweet memories during this time of sorrow. May God hold you all in the palm of his hand and bless your mom with special healing at this time.

I will miss my Uncle Robert. He did have a great sense of humor. I can hear his laugh. I remember some of his sayings such as "Well excuuuuuuse me!" and "Its time to hit the dusty trail" when he was ready to go home. He was a wonderful family man. RIP Uncle Robert. Until we meet again ❤
