What a magnificent friend! The best I could ever hope for in this life. And during his last year, incredibly challenging as it was for Bob, I felt the depth of his love and wise presence becoming clearer and clearer. I just feel profoundly grateful, and know he had this effect on so many others- such a beautiful being, such an awakening life!

I treasure the 3 days I spent with Bob driving him from Bob and Robin's house in Northampton to Mass General for radiation treatments, back in earlyish summer. On a trip to England at age 7, I wrote in my childish hand in my diary after falling into a wild brook, "I waved my hand and Said Help! Help! and my sweet bother [sic] Bobby Held me like a Gentleman and all my clothes got wet." He always was a gentleman to me-and a gentle man throughout his entire life. Such love and gratitude, beyond words and deep condolences to Robin. Bob was such a great friend to me and to so many. He lives on in us as we aspire to embody what he taught directly and by the example of his life. The ever widening circles of his influence are incalculable. He was a great support to me, personally, on my spiritual path. A great person and wise benefactor.
