Not sure what to say?

At Cornell, Bob was an outstanding team builder. He had the vision and fortitude to see his dream team succeed. He was an inspiration to me and others who followed in his wake. We will be forever grateful for the legacy he left us. Rest in peace RPM!

Dear Florita,
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I knew Bob as my "next-door neighbor" in Morrill Hall at UMass during my post-doc with Ercole Canale-Parola. Bob was my favorite source of help and advice with research problems. His sense of humor was legendary. He loved to create mysteries; for example, with a prism placed in his office window to cast a rainbow on the wall in the hall - his way to challenge the curiosity of students as they walked by. Bob Mortlock was my pH.D. thesis advisor and mentor at U. Mass and a cherished friend and colleague throughout my career. My deepest condolences to Florita, Michele, Doug and Jeff.

Dr. Mortlock was a UMass Professor whom I admired for his love of Microbiology and for his enthusiasm to pass along his knowledge. I kept in touch with the Mortlocks over the...

Sincere sympathies to Florita and the entire Mortlock family. Bob was an outstanding scientist, teacher, mentor to his students (he was on my Ph.
d guidance committee at UMass), and colleague, and just a downright nice fellow. Rest in peace Bob, you will remain in my memory.

My heartfelt condolences to the Mortlock Family. I worked closely with Dr. Mortlock for several years as his secretary at Cornell and he was one of my favorite faculty members to work for. Sending love and deepest sympathies.

Florita , Michele, Jeffery and Douglas , I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
