Not sure what to say?

How truly sad. I am so sorry to learn that Mr. Mulgrew has passed. He was my high-school English teacher at Marymount. What an amazing person he was to all who were privileged to know him. He redefined The Odyssey and The Catcher in the Rye for me. :) I will always remember him as a kind, principled soul who was truly devoted to his students. What a tremendous loss. May heaven hold you closely, Mr. Mulgrew. Blessings to the Mulgrew family. I am so sorry for your loss. ❤

Dear Mr. Mulgrew,

I walked the Robert Frost Interpretive Trail near Breadloaf today. I thought about you, how much you said you enjoyed this place, and the stories we read three years ago in Hemingway & Faulkner. I thought about "nada y nada," Paco and the bull, and Mt. Kilimanjaro.

I thought about these stories and you a lot the past few years.

There are many times at Middlebury, I wonder why I am there. College has been painful, but a reassuring memory has...

Although I did not have the privilege of being a student of his, I am greatly saddened by the loss of such a wise and kind man. Mr. Mulgrew's passing has touched everyone in the Bishop's community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mulgrew family.

I was proud to be a colleague of Robert's at Bishop's. He will be greatly missed! My love to the family.

It was August 1995, the beginning of freshman year both for my son and the new Out-of-Door Academy High School, when I met Mr. Mulgrew. We were introduced at the first parent coffee of the year and we chatted with a familiar ease. I immediately sensed a gentle strength, humble humor and no nonsense grace in the way Mr. Mulgrew chose to approach life, and I knew this founding father would impact the lives of our students and our new high school in profoundly positive ways. I was not...

Robert Mulgrew...truly one of the best English teachers. He helped my daughter Krystie McMurry when she first attended ODA Sarasota, FL. Her health problems put her behind in the public school system; Robert Mulgrew not only tutored her everyday but because of his tutelage she finished college in 2.5 years! The respect he received from his students was beyond the range of normal. Mr. Mulgrew has gone beyond the angels...he should be a saint. With great love, he will be missed.

He was a wonderful teacher. I'm sorry to read of his loss.

Mr. Mulgrew shaped my development as a Latin and English scholar. No teacher ever made me laugh or opened my mind more than he did. I remember my declensions to this day because of him. To be in his class was a privilege. My heart goes out to his wife and children. Much love from the Marymount family.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
