Robert J. Mulvihill
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Robert J. Mulvihill, 85, died at 7:58 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at St. John's Hospice.
Bob was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Omaha, Neb., the son of Joseph and Dorcas LaVelle Mulvihill. He married Elizabeth A. Roetker on Aug. 10, 1963, in Omaha, Neb.
Bob was a graduate of Creighton University, where he received his law degree. He later earned two master's degrees, one in business administration and another in finance. He was Vice President of Claims at Franklin Life Insurance Company and retired after 20 years of service. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Nebraska Bar Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Patrick Mulvihill.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Mulvihill of Springfield; one son, Daniel J. (wife, Peggy) Mulvihill of Evanston; one daughter, Connie Cody of Springfield; three grandchildren: Ian Cody of Springfield, and Dylan and Cameron Mulvihill, both of Evanston; one sister-in-law, Marge Mulvihill of New York; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Christ the King Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Ring celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Betty,I was so saddened to hear of Bob's passing, and offer my deep condolences to you and your family. Life has been overwhelming for you guys lately I know but have peace in knowing dad/ grandpa is in his wonderful resting place! I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Mulvihill at Franklin Life in the claims department. He was such a nice person to be around and a great boss.
