Robert L. Murphy

Robert was born on January 22, 1935 and passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017. Robert was a resident of Novi, Michigan at the time of passing. He attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1960. After High School, he joined the United States Navy and retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve on January 1, 1995 as an officer. He was a member of a multitude of Masonic bodies including the A.A.S.R., Valley of Detroit, Moslem Shrine, and Zal Gaz and Aries Grottoes. He was a member of five Masonic lodges: John H. Lejeune Lodge, A.F&A.M. No. 350 in Quantico, VA, Zion Lodge F.&A.M. He acted as Grand Marshal in over twenty Masonic Installations. He was a member of the Masonic Book Club and the Michigan Lodge of Research. His Masonic service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, MI on Saturday, November 11, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation on Friday, Nov. 10, from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment and Military Honors will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI on Monday, November 13, at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria, VA.
