Robert Myers Obituary

Myers Jr., Robert
1949 - 2021
Robert "Bob" Norman Myers Jr., born July 19, 1949 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2021 at his home in Columbus. The son of Robert and Betty Myers, Bob was a 1967 graduate of Altoona Area High School and in 1971 received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from The Pennsylvania State University. He also obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. Bob served in the United States Army for several years, obtaining the rank of Captain, before embarking upon his business career. He was employed as a business analyst for Dun and Bradstreet and Rockwell International, before joining Battelle Memorial Institute, where he worked for many years as Vice President of Business Operations. He then served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Edison Welding Institute before retiring. In retirement, Bob spent his free time volunteering, tinkering in his wood shop, and indulging in his love for classic cars. Bob was the beloved father of Michael (Angela) of Loveland, OH and Patrick (Cassandra) Myers of Ewa Beach, HI; and was the devoted grandfather to Jack, Rowan, Jaeveon, James, Bobby, and Madison. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Betty, brothers Bill and Jim Myers, and sister Connie Huhn. In addition to his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Bob is survived by his brother, David; sisters, Linda (Jack) Lundy and Shari (Mark) Izzo; brothers-in-law, Marvin Huhn, Dennis and Cheryl Hatch of Altoona; and former wife, Janet Myers. At Bob's request, there will be no memorial service. With that in mind, if you would like to make a donation in Bob's name, please consider donating to any U.S. Military-approved charitable foundation. I am sorry for your loss. I can remember our family going to visit Bob and Janet when they lived off of Williams Road. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am sad to hear my cousin Bob has passed away. Bob was such a great man. I remember his soft spoken voice. We always had such a great time when our family came to Altoona to visit. My thoughts go out to the Myers family. Sherry and Linda the Miller family send thoughts and prayers to
you all.

I am so saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. Even though he was a little older than me, I have fond memories of him growing up. His mom Betty and my dad Louis were brother and sister. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
