Robert Layman Neely

OBITUARY ROBERT LAYMAN NEELY October 6, 1946 – April 24, 2013 Robert Layman Neely (Bob), 66, passed away on April 24, 2013, in Hilton Head, SC after a short battle against an aggressive form of late stage melanoma. He attended high school and college in Columbus, Ohio. He was a Vietnam veteran who retired as a Major after 20 years of service in the Army. He spent the next 22 years at Lockheed Martin where he was a Manager of Government Security in Mount Laurel, NJ. After retiring from Lockheed Martin, he and his wife, Barbara, moved to Hilton Head, SC to spend their retirement years playing year-round golf. He enjoyed sports, getting together with his family and friends, and was loved and will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his daughter, Marni King, his son, Robert John Neely (RJ), his grandchildren, Marissa King and Tyler Neely, and his brother Mike Neely. Private family services were held at the Island Funeral Home and Crematory in Hilton Head on Saturday, April 27, 2013.
