Beloved husband of Ruth H. Spence Nelson (nee Decker) and the late Shirley P. Nelson (nee Gillett). Father of Robert M. (Christine) and William C. (Linda) Nelson. Step-father of Carol (David) McLerran, Becky (Jim) Vaughn and David (Suzie) Spence. Grandfather of Robert G., Kristen, Caroline "Carly" Nelson, Jeffrey and Laura McLerran, Taylor and Whitney Vaughn and Logan, Tierney, Paige and Keeley Spence.
Robert had a long and distinguished career with Monsanto/Solutia.
Services: A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 19, 1:30 p.m. at Kirkwood United Methodist Church, 201 West Adams, Kirkwood, 63122. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments, 1750 South Big Bend, Richmond Heights, 63117 or Kirkwood United Methodist Church. A service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory.
