Always missing Bob(and Emily)..They are unforgettable! Bob and Emily were such vital people and gave so much to everyone!. They made our days, in Portland,Seaside, and Astoria, shine because of their abundant enthusiasm and goodness. Its been too long without them! Bruce and I smile and mention them when something reminds us of our fun days spent with them..Love!!! 12/21/24 Jan (and Bruce) Roberts

Emily & Girls,

I have spent the weeks since Bob's death, feeling so badly about not getting to visit with you so you would know how we felt It was a low blow to not be able to make it to the service because of snow locking us in to our hills. Lee let me know how many people filled the hall with the love/respect they felt for Bob & all of you that are left behind.

I remember Bob being a great Father & loving each of you four girls arriving in the world. He so enjoyed all of your...

Emily and Family:

We just heard the other day and wanted to express our deepest sympathies on behalf of Charles Bedford, Dad, and Myself.
Maybe not the best place to mention it but we lost Mom on September 13th of 2016 due to complications of dementia/neurological disorders. She was honored on October 9th for the loving Friend, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother that she was to all of us!
Charles, Mom, Dad and I enjoyed our breakfast gatherings; sharing and...

It was such a blessing to know Bob.. each Sunday, and also on committees and at happy potluck times. He reminded me of my own Papa. Izi and I will hold Emily in our hearts--even more closely in months to come. I'm inspired by Bob's life, and by your family's love. I am so glad he did not suffer, but rather led a FULL, fruitful, love-filled, purpose-filled life right til the end.

Please call on us when you are ready!

With love,
Nancy C. & Izi

Our friend, Bob Nelson, was a man who proudly celebrated all things Oregon. He participated in the bountiful gifts of his state and the Pacific Northwest. Bruce and I benefitted by Bob's enthusiasm and knowledge during our visits with him and Emily at the Maritime Museum in Astoria. We visited the mouth of the Columbia River where Bob explained the quirkiness and danger of ,"Crossing the Bar." Bob knew his history and made it come alive with humor and enthusiasm!
Bob shall be greatly...

Dear Emily and Family, I have very fond memories of Bob, his laugh and just his overall presence, from all of our IBMP get togethers and meetings. He was always admired and respected, and he will be missed but never forgotten. It's been years since I last saw him, but it sure doesn't feel like it. The photo is a great one and speaks volumes.
Best,
Dave Cozzens

Bob was my roommate in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house in Corvallis for a year. As a student of Chemical Engineering at Oregon State, Bob was forever studying. Whenever Bob would lay down his slide rule and talk with me, I always learned a lot -- Bob made sure of that for he had lots of strong opinions to share.
Bpb had two kinds of wonderful laughs; the quieter laugh that was really more like a loud smile with a twinkle in his eyes, and a super-loud laugh that made the walls...
