I knew Bob for many years through our work together with the Durango Lions Club. He and Jan would always host our club Christmas parties and their home was always done up beautifully. He was a good friend! My deepest condolences to Jan and the entire family. Prayers for peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Growing up around the Newlin family was such a blessing. Bob was kind and generous with everyone. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been welcomed into their home for various gatherings. Growing up, I enjoyed watching Durango Demons football with their family and truly cherish those memories. My condolences for Jan,Bret, Kurt and families.

Bob and Jan had the best Christmas parties and Bob was a real stickler for having the perfect tree. He recruited the Strater coffee club every year for the event. Susan and I will miss Bob and his risque sense of humor. Bill

We've known Bob for many years, and I can attest that he was always a true friend and always a gentleman. He was always willing to help, and never said no to anyone in need. He was the kind of person that always showed what a good neighbor, or friend should be. Rest in peace my friend, you'll be missed by all who knew you.

Mr. Christmas has passed during this season. We will always remember the Newlin's holiday home, with a large, freshly cut pine tree. (Some great adventure stories of the coffee club gang helping chop down and bring in those trees each year.) My entire family truly loved Bob and feel honored to have known him.
