Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Nisley not only as my art teacher in school, but he also was our arts and crafts teacher at the Cottage Hill playground.

One of my fondest memories was when he taught us how to make lanyards out of gimp.

He had such talent--making all the scenary for Steel-High plays.

I am honored to have had him for a teacher and wish to extend my sincere sympathy to his entire family.

I will always cherish my memories of him. Thanks Mr....

To the Nisley Family,
I'm so pleased that I had the opportunity to know "Mr. Nisley". He was a wonderful artist and a great friend of the theatre. I will cherish his painting hanging in my living room as a reminder of his creative vision. His talent and his smile will be missed.

Dear Nisleys and friends:
We are next door neighbors of Mr. Nisley's son Bob. We just wanted to extend our sympathies to our wonderful neighbor family in particular and Mr. Nisley's family in general as well as all of the people he touched as an educator, artist, husband and father. Our best wishes to all of you.

Bob was my art teacher at Steelton and when I left school to marry at age 16 he wanted me to return after. I never did! But about 10 years after, the mother of 3 small children I decided that I wanted to learn to oil paint. I phoned him and he graciously invited me to attend the remaining evening classed he was instructing in Hershey. Since finances were an issue he also told me what were the minimum supplies I needed and how to paint on inexpensive surfaces. Years later
I took a...

Mr. Nisley was one of the greatest people who touched my life at Steel-High. He always made me feel special and I am sure that there are hundreds of others who were made to feel the same way. His gift for art was obvious and his gift of love and kindness to all he met was the greatest gift he gave to all of us. Heaven is richer for our loss here on earth. Thank you Mr. Nisley for being such a great human being. Thank you God for loaning him to all of us when we needed him most in our...

It has been many years since I saw Mr. Nisley in our art classes in the old building in Steelton. Mom kept a file of paintings I did in class for Margaret Fox-Haramija and Mr. Nisley. They bring back pleasant memories of teachers who cared for us. I never had an opportunity to say thank you - this will have to do.

To Lois, Susan, An (Rachael), Robert, and family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of my Uncle Bob. I will always remember him sitting next to his hearth in a big easy chair, the ultimate picture of hospitality and contentment. His hearty laugh and big smile were always a comfort to me. I knew that all was right with the world when he would tell a story or relate an incident, and then have a good laugh. I will always treasure his watercolors that he gave me and have...

Bob was one of my favorite teachers at Steelton High School. Kind, always a smile, low-key and encouraging of all students. I remember his attending one of our recent class reunions. His talent in art was unsurpassed.

Dear, Dear, Lois and All Family Members and Friends,

This man was a man--in the midst of all this world and the next demands of a human being. I loved him so much. He was my art teacher in high school (Steel-High) and he was my bridge to life through hurtful times as a teenager. He praised every project I attempted. He encouraged me to laugh a lot more, and because he was so caring we shared mutuality. He was not over and above. He walked WITH. What a man! What a man! ...
