Robert E. Nowicki went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2016 surrounded by his loving wife, son, and daughter. Robert grew up in Bridesburg and was raised by his parents Edward and Alfreda (Fritz). From a young age, he knew what it meant to work hard, working in his father's corner store and then as a State Farm agent for 46 years. He was passionate about helping others and took pride in giving back to those in his community. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time at his home in Naples, Florida with his wife, Ruth. Their love for each other was evident and he was delighted to have her by his side. Friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues leaned on him as a pillar to offer words of encouragement, advice, or an ear to listen. Despite being born and raised in Philadelphia, he wasn't afraid to show his support for his favorite team-the New York Yankees. Over the years, you may have found him at the race track, fishing, or playing cards, but his favorite place to be was with his family. This is where he really shined brightest. He drew everyone in with his smile, laugh, and storytelling. To say he was admired is an understatement. Some may think of him as the patriarch, but to those closest to him, he was more than that. He was the foundation and rock of his family. He was a man of faith who instilled in others the importance of doing the right thing no matter what. He is survived by his wife Ruth (nee Miller); children Robert E. (Carol) Nowicki, Jr., and Lisa Nowicki; granddaughters, Laura (Gary) Laughlin, Sarah (John) Nowicki, and Christa Nowicki; siblings Tina (Dan) McLaughlin and David (Ed) Nowicki; stepchildren Bernard (Maryellen) Butler, Richard (Joy) Butler, step-grandchildren Rachel Feuerhammer, Jim (Lauryn) Feuerhammer, Ryan Butler, Lindsey Butler, Richard Butler, and Justin Butler; and many extended family and friends. The impact he's had on those around him is beyond measure and he will never be forgotten. Relatives and friends are invited to gather Monday 10 AM at the Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, 13500 Philmont Ave., Phila. Pa. 19116. Service will begin at 12 Noon. Gifts in Robert's memory may be made to the Immunotherapy Research Fund or by mail to Penn Medicine Development, Immunotherapy Research Fund, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Checks can be made payable to ""Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania"" with Robert Nowicki, Immunotherapy Research Fund in the memo line. To the Nowicki Family,
I am so sorry to hear the passing of my friend Bob. Bob was a founding member of the Jim Junod Lodge & a past president. He was one of the driving forces of the lodge for well over 25 years. There was never a more caring & giving person. Bob personified class & dignity & he was someone I admired greatly! God Bless my friend you will be missed by so many...
