OBEN II, Robert - Of Flint, age 24, died Monday, November 8, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Chaplain Adam Doyle officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Robert was born in Flint on March 21, 1986 and was attending Baker College. He will always be remembered for his kind compassionate loving personality. He was the sweetest son, brother, grandson and nephew. Always greeted people with the sweetest smile and never left without saying "I love you" and giving a hug. Surviving are mother, Julie; brothers, Kyle, Ryley and Keegan; grandmothers, YaYa (Linda Jasman) and Amy Johnson; many cousins; aunts and uncles, Marcy, Suzanne, Jeff and wife Candy, Jean and husband Dave, John and Theresa, Milton and wife Lynn, Ken, Vicki and husband Gary; great-aunts, Nina and Joann; many special friends. He was preceded in death by his loving father Robert, grandparents, John and Shirley Oben and Kenneth Norris. Special thanks to the 4th floor ICU at Hurley for all their care and compassion. I was so shocked when I saw The Flint Journal and saw Robert. I feel your pain, because of such a sweet boy. He impacted me forever beng a first year teacher at Cody School. I cried as I know all of you have, but feel blessed that his big heart and smile will be remembered forever!! I will never forget you and your son.
