Bob Ochsner peacefully passed away at home on May 6, 2012, at the age of 90. He grew up in West Seattle, graduated W.S. High, and married his neighborhood sweetheart, Patricia. He worked at Boeing, then joined the US Naval Reserve and was stationed at Catalina Island. Shortly after returning to Seattle, he started his own auto dealership, Bob Ochsner Cars, which he operated for 55 years at various locations in Seattle, with the last and longest location in W.S. Bob was a community leader and gave his time as President of Rotary, Kiwanis, and the Washington Independent Auto Dealers Assoc. He was also active in Big Brothers, Little League, the Magnolians, Seattle Elks Club, and sponsored local race cars. He had a strong work ethic, an outgoing personality, was a prolific story teller, and the king of one liners- "this, that, and the next thing". Bob loved to garden, tinker around the house, dig clams, swim in Puget Sound at his summer cabin in Indianola, and play cribbage or pinnacle with his friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, and 5 of 6 children; Robert, Linda, Jim, Kathy, John, and 14 grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 11th at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 3218 W. Barrett St., 98199.

"Mr" Ochsner was a friend of my parents, John and Connie Bolenbaugh and they said he was the most honest used car salesman there was. Graduated with his daughter, Carol, from Queen Anne High School. Bought my first car from Bob, a '56 Mercury and later my husband and I bought a 72 Ford pick-up which we had for thirty years. Nice, nice man, he will be missed

Bob was a well known member of the Seattle Elks.At the time of his passing, he was the third longest serving member of our Lodge. Always a quick whit, Bob will be remembered fondly by his brothers as a great cribbage player and storyteller.

Sorry to hear about Bob's passing. When I opened "Car-Tronics" next to his West Seattle location, Bob took me under his wing. He introduced me to Rotary Club, and always had time for me to come over and share "retail" stories. His positive and caring attitude, continue to inspire me...

Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Our families lived across the street from each other in Magnolia and my siblings and I were friends with several of their children. Heaven surely has a place for such a friendly, generous and genuinely funny man.

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. As a young boy living next door to the family on 31st in Magnolia I've managed to keep in touch at the West Seattle lot for many years. Bob gave me my first job as a "lot boy" when at 1st and Spokane Street and bought and sold many of our family cars. He will be missed.
