Not sure what to say?

Robert was an inspiring friend. We shared a deep friendship for over half of our life times. I meet him when he opened his front door to his apartment on Central Park West and 68th Street. The energy he eluded literally caused me to loose my balance. Rob will always remain within me.

Martine and I worked for Robert for a few years in the eighties and lived in his buildning at Lafayette st. I was trying to confirm his email address to send him a x-mas greeting and I came across this page. It was a chock for both of us and we are very sad. We remember him fondly. He was a wonderful person and we had always hoped to meet him again. Our thoughts go to the family. RIP Robert. Christer (from Sweden) and Martine (from France) now residing in Sweden.

I was a tenant in Roberts building about 10 years ago. I just came across this and was unaware of his passing. Am so sorry to hear. He really embraced life. Such a lively personality. So many stories. Am so sorry to hear of his passing.

Although we have been apart these many years, you are still in my heart old friend. Those Lady Astor days will never be forgotten.

Robert, larger than life for the fifty years I knew him. A great contradiction, a great friend. Though I haven't seen him for years, I will greatly miss him.
