Robert Charles Oliphant

The employees at the Waterloo Walmart store are sad to lose our friend Bob. He was one of the bright spots in our day. Every day we could count on seeing him on his walk through our store and his wonderful smile with encouraging words and joking banter. He is missed by all of us. He wasn't just a customer: Bob was a friend to us all.

I have been friends with Bob since high school and have continued to keep in contact with him, When he moved back to Waterloo he visited our home many times. We have been able to meet his children and some of his grandchildren. We offer our sincere condolences to his family, and hope that if they come to Iowa they will come to see us. Hello there, I just recently saw this. I am the daughter of Maryke Lien. We lived on Kingsley Ave. in Waterloo and my mom, also from Germany, was a friend of Margarete and Bob. I had been to Egelsbach a long time ago with my mom to visit as she stayed in touch with Margarete after she moved to Germany. My mom passed away in 2019 in Waterloo. My condolences to the Olifant family.

Bob and family were neighbors of ours on Kingsley avenue in Waterloo, Iowa. From my first meeting with Bob, it was apparent that we were destined to be friends. His kids and myself were play buddies, and his wife used to fix my mom's hair. They moved to Germany and I had lost touch with Bob until I ran into him while working for Mediacom. I was fortunate enough to see Darrin and Vicki not too long after, and spoke with Bob not too long ago. In Bob's words, "Love Ya!" You will be missed
