Not sure what to say?

Dear family of Mr. Bob Ontko, I am sad and shocked to just now in 2021 have discovered my Teacher and Basketball coach has died. He was a Mentor to me, and after my own Father, he ranks number 2 as most influential male in my life. So happy to be a part of our 8th grade basketball championship that he coached. I thought often of you thru out my life, I am blessed to have known him

We were all so sad to hear of Mr. Ontko's passing. Our family has nothing but happy memories of a truly dedicated teacher and coach. Our four children benefited from his guidance, discipline and unique sense of humor. Peace to you and your family. Dan, Kathy, Kate, Beth, Danny and Michael

I was sorry to learn this morning about the passing of Mr. Ontko -- as he can only be known to someone who was his student over 30 years ago. Not only was Mr. Ontko a great teacher, but I will most remember him as our basketball coach. He coached with great intensity, but always made sure we were having fun -- something I have tried to remember when coaching myself. My sympathies to Mrs. Ontko and the family.

So sad to have read the obit. of Mr. Ontko, remember him kindly as one of the favorite teachers of my children Chuck, John and Donna.
Donald and I are in Florida for the winter and will be unable to pay our respects at the funeral home.
We send our best regards to you and your family.

Our prayers are with you.
Bob was always a gentleman when we were in school.

We renewed our friendship when I came to Holland Township in 1969. Then for about a fifteen year stretch 1985-2000 we saw one another quite a bit while I was officiating basketball and Bob was coaching the kids at Alexandria Twp. School. I've always admired how much he gave to the kids at Alexandria Township School. He was always a...
