We met Robert and his neat friend "Ernie" on a Rhine River cruise in 2008. They were our table mates along with others throughout the trip. What a delight he was - great sense of humor. When Ernie told us (quietly) Robert was 94, we were floored. He could have easily passed for 70's. I'm sorry to learn of their passing. But, how wonderful to have lived such a full and active life. Well done!

Our thoughts are with the Oppenheimer family. Bob moored his boat next to ours at the OGYC and he was alwaus upbeat and did not change in the 30 plus years we knew him. Treasure a life well lived

What a great man and a great life! Pat and Bob were the first couple my parents met when we moved from Canada to Old Greenwich in 1966. They remained loyal friends through the years. I used to babysit for Barbara, and Pat and I sang in the Congregational Church. Throughout all the moves, my parents and the Oppenheimer's always remained close friends. Bob's 100 th birthday party was very special, and to continue on to 104 is remarkable. He will be sadly missed.
