Uncle R.J was a big man with a hearty laugh. He had great stories to tell of his time in the service. Our time with him was so short, I wish we could have had more time to share stories and get to know each other more. He will be greatly missed. I hope that you and your brothers continue to keep in touch, so we can continue to get to know Uncle R.J, through your stories.
Love you all.

Farewell Daddy-O, I will miss you so very much,
Not to see your smile, hear your laughter or feel your touch.
So Fly me to the Moon and Make the World go Away,
Thank you Daddy-O for the songs that are in my heart each and everyday.
Through happy times and fiery trials,
Precious memories of you walking me down the aisle.
I'll never forget that Thanksgiving Day,
Atop Mount Rose, as we sang and the piano played.
And When the Moon Hit our Eyes like a Big Pizza Pie,
we would laugh and laugh until we cried.
And when I get lonely and start to pine,
I will remember Daddy Dear that you are my Sunshine! (My only Sunshine!)

My condolences to all the Owens Family. My fondest memory of Bob is the way he laughed. He threw his head back and the laugh came from deep within. It always made me feel happy. These memories of Bob are precious and hopefully will give you comfort remembering them also.

I would like offer my sincerest condolences to the Owens family for the loss your father. Bob and Gloria were actually my God Parents and were good friends with my own parents, Lupe and Angie Reyes. My mother Angie had been friends with Gloria since they were teens, and kept in contact with Gloria until she (Gloria) passed away. Gloria and her daughter Carolyn attended my wedding in Lake Tahoe in 1989. My mother still lives in San Jose, but we lost my father (Lupe) to cancer in February of 2013 at the age of 81. I know the loss of a parent leaves a big gap in your life that is irreplaceable, but the memories will always be in your heart.
I'll always remember Bob as the life of the party, and his big laugh. When my parents were younger, they would often get together with Bob and Gloria, and other friends, for dinner and drinks. Bob always seemed so happy, always smiling, laughing and making jokes. My mother often remembers the time Bob put a crab claw on the hand of his missing finger, and went around shaking hands with everyone to make them laugh!
Life is fleeting, but it's comforting to know that for a while they shared a wonderful friendship with love and laughter.
Sincerely,
Christopher Reyes
