I just watched the movie. Thank you, Ms. Peace for fighting to keep your son on the right path. It’s an encouragement to us mothers trying to overcome the odds. Your son’s passing was not in vain. May children and young men learn from his life for years to come.

I know you and your son. You are such a strong quiet soul, and god sent you a genius. You carry your pain with such ease it´s hard to see, even though it broke your heart. Why you Jacqueline and your friendly genius son. I guess only god knows, but we have no control over this world and I know you raised him well, look at your results, a Harvard graduate, you did a great job my friend. So just keep your sons smile and that accomplishment in your mind. People can say sorry and sympathy but...

Ms. Peace, you did a wonderful job raising a remarkable young man. I too am a single mother and understand the struggle. Thinking of you touches my heart so much because I understand what Rob was to you and that your whole world was about him. The fact that you, as well as the rest of the world lost Rob is beyond tragic. I think how he could have changed the world, but maybe he did after all. We read his story, we grow fond of him, we see the light he cast, we wish the story didn't end...

I'm currently on Chapter 11 of the book about Robert and decided to go online to research him a little bit. Seeing his photos and that great smile was really hard to see. I'll be finished with the book shortly and I know it doesn't end well but I wanted to still send my condolences to the family and to say thank you to Mr. Hobbs for taking the time to write about his friend. This has touched me in so many ways.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am currently teaching the book about your son to my senior English classes at Swenson High School in Philadelphia. When I came across the book last year, I went to my principal and asked her permission to teach the book. My students and I have had many meaningful conversations about the book and they are keeping journals. The journals have been very thoughtful and meaningful. Once again, I am so very sorry for the loss that you have...
